Financial assistance for about 10,000 war veterans in Vitebsk Oblast

        About 10,000 residents of Vitebsk region will receive one-off financial assistance in the run-up to the 70th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invasion, BelTA quotes the Vitebsk region Executive Committee. The living conditions of all war veterans in the region were inspected. The services help them repair their homes and household appliances. 60 families of veterans improved their living conditions over the last five years. In 2013 and Q1 2014 regional social service centers fulfilled more than 3,000 requests from war veterans.
      In 2013 all veterans of the Great Patriotic War were medically checked under a screening program in Vitebsk region. The national hospital for war veterans named after P.M.Masherov provided treatment to 349 people, the Vitebsk region hospital for war veterans Yurtsevo took care of more than 4,600 people.
