The exhibition of dwarf trees, Bonsai - Music Caught Between Branches, open at the Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs Palace in Gomel, we learnt from the press service of the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble.
The visitors will see plants created by Dmitry Vikharev from Gomel using traditional Japanese techniques. The exposition features around 30 coniferous and deciduous trees that have been grown by Dmitry over many years. The exhibition items include a rosemary tree, a pine, an ash tree, an elm tree, a ginkgo, and a maple tree.
For Gomel the collection is a unique one. The most important thing in the art of bonsai is the beauty of the nature and its ability to survive under extreme conditions. Dmitry Vikharev uses some environment simulation techniques to create nature in miniature: an apricot tree bent by the wind, a maple tree split by the lightning, etc.
