Belarus not to recall its Ambassador from Ukraine

Belarus will not recall its Ambassador from Ukraine, spokesperson for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing when asked about whether Belarus will respond in kind to Kyiv’s recalling its Ambassador from Belarus for consultations.

"After the Ukrainian Ambassador was recalled for consultations, Belarus’ Ambassador to Ukraine Valentin Velichko met with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine. This means that our dialogue with Ukraine continues,” Dmitry Mironchik said. The Belarusian side assumes that "the level of the Ambassador is the level necessary for maintaining the relationships between the neighboring friendly countries that have close economic and interpersonal contacts”, Dmitry Mironchik said. “We hope that our relations will be maintained at this level,” said Dmitry Mironchik.
