EEC: Belarus moving towards free competition

Belarus is abandoning the policy of state price regulation in favor of free competition, the acting director of the department of antimonopoly regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Alexander Kurilchik, told an online press conference.
“Last year the list of regulated prices was significantly reduced. The country adopted a new anti-monopoly law which contains the provisions similar to those in the countries with developed competitive agreements,” said Alexander Kurilchik.  According to him, the best antimonopoly regulation practices are applied in South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, and Austria. The competition plays the key role there. "In fact, we have already established contact with the agencies of those countries dealing with competition, and exchange information. We signed memoranda with the Austrian agencies.
