Belarusian biathlete Darya Domracheva became a three-time Olympic champion

        Within just one week Belarusian biathlete Darya Domracheva became a three-time Olympic champion. After victories in pursuit and individual race she went on to win the mass start.
Three gold medals at a single Olympics is a rare result in the history of world sport. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko awarded Domracheva the title "Hero of Belarus":
          “Belarusian girls are the best. I’m very excited and happy. After four years of preparations and hard training one simply has to do his or her best, to use this opportunity which may well not happen again. It is here and now that your destiny is decided. Those several seconds is what all the years of training were intended for.”
