Belneftekhim’s foreign trade in 2013 good despite unfavorable prices

In 2013 the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim raised its merchandise trade surplus to $5.6 billion. The figure tripled in the last three years according to the statistics released by the concern after the session of the Belneftekhim Board. The session summed up the concern’s economic and financial performance in 2013. Participants of the session also discussed the tasks that have to be fulfilled to reach this year’s social and economic development goals. Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich took part in the session.

In accordance with the press release the considerable increase in merchandise trade surplus over the last three years is the key achievement of the work aimed at improving the economic performance and at the financial rehabilitation of enterprises. In 2013 the trade surplus improved by $382 million from 2012 despite unfavorable global prices for potash fertilizers, oil products, and several other commodities.
