Belarus, France mull over joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Belarus and France are mulling over a joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko said at the presentation of the business club France-Belarus in Minsk.

According to the diplomat, a priority of Belarus’ foreign policy is advancement of economic interests. “Maximum efforts of the Foreign Ministry and Belarusian embassies are aimed at establishing and strengthening relations with economic partners abroad. The economic diplomacy is among the priorities of the French policy,” Pavel Latushko said.

In his words, the Belarusian-French trade approached $600 million last year, up 15% on the previous year. At the same time, according to Pavel Latushko, this figure does not meet the potential of two countries. That is why joint efforts are aimed at increasing of the Belarusian-French trade turnover. Various mechanisms are used to address the issue, including mutual business visits. The current visit of French businessmen to Belarus testifies to the fact. Last year Belarus presented its investment potential in Paris and other French cities.
