Belarus to set up commission to address problems in agricultural industry

A commission headed by the Prime Minister of Belarus will be set up in Belarus to address problems in the agricultural industry, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated when meeting with representatives of science.
“The commission headed by the Prime Minister will deal with the problems in agriculture. We will deal with the discipline, will look into the management and especially the economics of agricultural companies,” said the Belarusian leader.
In recent years the state has made a lot for the agricultural industry, Alexander Lukashenko said. The high quality of Belarusian products was recognized not only in the traditional markets but also in the European Union, despite the fact that sometimes artificial barriers are put to the movement of goods. Further progress in increasing the efficiency in agriculture and reducing production costs will depend on the contribution of science.
The head of state believes that a strong agricultural sector is extremely important for the country. Accordingly, we need qualified staff who will work in the industry, the President said.
