Belarusian film nominated for the Academy Award


Belarusian film "Shoes" has been nominated for Academy Award.
The film "Shoes" directed by Konstantin Fam is dedicated to the memory of Holocaust victims. It tells the story of a pair of women's shoes starting from a shop window and ending with the grave of Auschwitz concentration camp prisoners. In total, the film features about 400 pairs of shoes.
The most extensive and expensive scenes were filmed in Belarus. The film shoot also involved film filmmakers from the Czech Republic, France, Israel, Poland, Russia and the United States. The 20-minute movie won all major awards at the Monaco Film Festival.
"Shoes" was included in the list of Academy Award nominees in the Best Short Film category.
