Lukashenko expects Belarus-Bryansk Oblast trade to hit $1bn in 2014

            Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko believes that Belarus and Bryansk region of Russia will be able to increase trade up to $1 billion in 2014. Alexander Lukashenko made this statement as he met with the region’s Governor Nikolai Denin in Minsk. Alexander Lukashenko noted that since the last meeting in 2005 the bilateral trade has soared five times to near $900 million in 2012. Speaking about specific cooperation areas, Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus is ready to meet the needs of Bryansk region in machinery and construction materials. Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus and Bryansk region have a considerable cooperation potential.
          Bryansk region Governor Nikolai Denin also welcomed the increase in the bilateral trade and successful operation of the joint ventures. The Governor noted that Bryansk region would like to study Belarus’ expertise and knowledge in developing small towns.
