Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei will lead the Belarusian delegation at the Eastern Partnership Summit that will be held in Vilnius. The summit will be held in Lithuania on 28-29 November.Vladimir Makei will present Belarus’ vision of the Eastern Partnership Initiative and its development prospects at a plenary discussion on 29 November. The head of the Belarusian delegation is set to hold bilateral talks with representatives of the EU member states and partner states, as well as top officials of the EU agencies.
The 2nd Eastern Partnership Business Forum will be arranged on the eve of the summit. The forum was established on the initiative of Belarus. Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov is expected to represent Belarus at the forum. The Eastern Partnership Initiative of the European Union is designed to strengthen cooperation between the European Union and its eastern partners, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The initiative was announced in May 2009.
