S. Korea interested in abolishing visas with Belarus

The Republic of Korea would like to have no visas with Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Belarus Yang Joong-mo told reporters.  The diplomat noted that the Republic of Korea and Russia had recently signed an agreement on visa-free travel. “After abolishing visas with the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Korea would like to do the same with other countries, including Belarus,” the ambassador said. The move will give an impetus to the bilateral cooperation in all the fields, including tourism, trade and investments, Yang Joong-mo emphasized. “The two states have already exchanged their views on the matter, however negotiations have not started yet,” the Korean diplomat said. He expressed confidence that the initiative will be upheld. Representatives of the Korean diplomatic mission came to Vitebsk for a study tour. They already met with Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Oleg Matskevich and are set to visit local companies and study the investment potential of the FEZ Vitebsk.
