Belarus-Estonia logging companies to be set up in Belarus


          Belarus and Estonia have plans to establish joint logging companies in Vitebsk, Minsk and Mogilev regions of Belarus, Spokesperson for the Forestry Ministry of Belarus Ruzhena Novitskaya told media. Efforts to expand cooperation in the forestry industry were discussed during a visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Forestry Minister Mikhail Amelyanovich to Tallinn. 
         He held talks with several Estonian companies involved in the forestry industry.
        The parties discussed a possibility to set up joint ventures in Belarus. Estonian businessmen said they would like to start new companies in Belarus, in particular logging companies. Following the talks, heads of forestry companies from Vitebsk, Minsk and Mogilev regions were instructed to conclude talks with Estonian partners by 1 December 2013. The participants of the meeting agreed to increase the export of Belarusian forestry products to Estonia. There are plans to implement joint projects in forest growing and inventory, forest management, genetics and selective breeding, fire control, and production of machines for logging operations
