Belarus-Hungary cooperation prospects discussed

         Belarus has discussed prospects of bilateral contacts with Hungary in view of the latter’s presidency in the Central European Initiative and the Visegrad Group. Belarus-Hungary cooperation was discussed at a meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary Alexander Khainovsky and Erno Keskeny, Director of the Office for Eastern Europe, Northern Caucasus, and Central Asia of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, the Minister’s special representative for relations with the CIS states.
        The meeting focused on results of the visit of Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina to Budapest. As a co-chairwoman of the Belarusian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation she visited Budapest in early October. The Belarusian official also took part in a Belarusian-Hungarian economic forum, which had been organized with assistance of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and held several meetings and negotiations. Important agreements were made during the visit and at the session of the commission in particular. How they will be implemented was discussed at the meeting of the Ambassador of Belarus and representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
