Minsk, Chisinau to expand trade, economic cooperation

        Minsk and Chisinau are going to expand cooperation in trade and economy, science and technology, other areas the Belarusian Embassy in Moldova told media. A Minsk delegation including representatives of the local authorities, businessmen – top executives of major companies held a meeting in Chisinau with the authorities and heads of Chisinau districts to discuss the ways of bolstering trade and economic ties, cultural exchanges. Minsk and Chisinau are eager to step up cooperation in the fields of high-technology medicine, housing and utility service, education, culture, sport, tourism, and support for the Belarusian and Moldovan diasporas. The ties between Minsk and Chisinau have been vigorously vibrant recently. The cities have signed a cooperation agreement. Such an agreement was concluded between Frunzensky district of Minsk and Botanica sector of Chisinau in 2012. In July 2012 a large-scale joint project to assemble Belarusian trolleybuses using Belkommunmash-manufactured knock-down kits was launched in Chisinau.
