Belarus’ economy can greatly benefit from Amber Coast Logistics project

Belarus is among the six countries that take part in the Amber Coast Logistics project. The country is believed to greatly benefit from this project economically, head of the logistics sub-department of the School of Business and Management of Technologies of the Belarusian State University (project co-coordinator from Belarus) Anatoly Molokovich said at a press conference. Anatoly Molokovich noted that the research revealed that the cargo flow across Belarus can be increased 1.5 times if Belarus streamlines legislation and harmonizes it with the EU laws. “If we take into consideration all the aspects – infrastructure, roads, and customs – we will be able to increase the through traffic via Belarus about three times,” he added. The specialist informed that a monograph will be issued after the project is completed.
Anatoly Molokovich informed that the project financing totals about €2.8 million, of which over €300,000 is earmarked for Belarus.
