PM: Belarus, Kazakhstan approve plan of action on assembly plants

Belarus and Kazakhstan agreed on a plan of action to develop assembly plants, Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the Belarus 1 TV channel on 4 July, BelTA informs.

"The leadership of Kazakhstan is taking very serious steps to promote industrialization, has a great interest in cooperation with Belarus. Our close cooperation includes projects to assemble vehicles. Now we are working to promote production localization of different types of machines. It averages about 30%, or a little more. The goal is to reach a 50% in localization. These projects were discussed during my working visit to Kazakhstan," Roman Golovchenko said.

He noted that Kazakhstan strives to develop its own competences in mechanical engineering. "The country has already made great advances on this front. We are only happy to offer our services. We have agreed on an action plan to develop assembly plants," the prime minister said.

"By saving on logistical expenses, we will be able to export products to China for mutual benefit. This is one of the ideas for the accelerated development of the production of Belarusian machines and the food industry in Kazakhstan," Roman Golovchenko added.
