Belarus-Russia two-year foreign policy action program agreed

A program of foreign policy actions for the next two years was agreed at the meeting of the Belarusian and Russian foreign ministers in Moscow. The information was released by Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei. According to the official, the program is supposed to be adopted at the next session of the boards of the two ministries. The session is scheduled to take place in Moscow in November.

 

 

Vladimir Makei mentioned the productive environment of the meeting. In his words, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the Union State of Belarus and Russia, real approaches to enabling equal rights of citizens of Belarus and Russia. Vladimir Makei said that the negotiations also secured an agreement on adopting concrete documents that will allow invigorating integration processes in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Commonwealth of Independent States taking into account the fact that Belarus presides over the CIS this year.

 

 

Close attention was paid to the interaction between the overseas institutions of Belarus and Russia during the talks. Vladimir Makei said that the Belarusian side will support Russia in view of Russia’s planned election to several UN bodies.
