Belarusian Railways, Latvian Railways discuss promising projects

      A delegation of Belarusian Railways led by company chief Vladimir Morozov has held talks with Chairman of the Board of Latvian Railways Ugis Magonis to review cooperation in cargo and passenger transportation in 2012 and discuss promising cooperation avenues for 2013. During the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Latvia Vladimir Morozov also met with Belarusian Ambassador to Latvia Alexander Gerasimenko. “They discussed Belarus-Latvia cooperation in transportation and transit, implementation of agreements between Belarusian Railways and Latvian Railways, ways to optimize transportation of export cargo and its transshipment via Latvian ports,” the Foreign Ministry informed. 
      Latvian Railways is one of Belarus’ key partners in international cargo transportation. Some 31.7 million tonnes of cargo heading for Latvia was transported via Belarusian Railways in 2012.
