Belarus, Russia to hold joint events to mark 70th anniversary of Victory


         The Defense Ministries of Belarus and Russia decided to hold joint events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The decision was made during the joint meeting of the military departments of Belarus and Russia and was announced by Belarus Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Yury Zhadobin, BelTA reports.  “The program of the celebrations will feature not only a parade with the participation of the military of the two countries but also a number of events for veterans and young people, exchanges of delegations, etc. We will cover the whole range of issues,” the head of the Belarusian Defense Ministry said.
        The ministry specified that the events will include the international exhibition, Milestones of Great Victory, in Moscow and expositions under the slogan Union State: United by Common Victory. Besides, the military agencies agreed to organize the joint work of the search subdivisions of the Belarusian and Russian armed forces at the sites of the battles between the Red Army and the Nazi invaders.
