The Ukrainian example showed that seeking a military solution to any problems is inhumane, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky told media as he commented on the forthcoming OSCE PA meeting which is due in Geneva on 3-5 October. “As we can see from the recent events in Ukraine, seeking a military solution to a problem does not simply seem possible, it is inhumane,” Viktor Guminsky said. He noted the OSCE PA is a place where MPs from different countries representing different interests and approaches can lead a dialogue, elaborate constructive solutions to various threats and suspend negative trends that exist nowadays. “It will be one of the main points on the agenda of the forthcoming meeting. I am sure that Ukraine will be a topical issue,” the MP added. The Belarusian delegation is expected to talk on a number of matters including military-political and environmental issues. “We have always been an active participant. I should say that inviting our delegation to the OSCE PA session its President Ilkka Kanerva thanked the Belarusian parliament for our active participation,” the Vice Speaker stressed. He added that in the past two years the OSCE PA adopted almost unanimously two resolutions proposed by the Belarusian side. The documents pertain to the protection of economic and social rights in the OSCE zone.
