The head of government thanked the authorities of Belarus for increasing the import of fresh and canned fruits and vegetables from Moldova at a time when Russia banned its deliveries to the Russian market.
Iurie Leanca stressed that Moldova is interested in expanding trade and economic cooperation with Belarus. At the moment Belarus is the largest exporter of Moldova’s wine and the second largest buyer of fruits and vegetable.
During the recent meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich in Ankara Moldova President Nicolae Timofti said that Moldova is grateful to the Belarusian authorities for their position on the bilateral trade. Mikhail Myasnikovich said that Belarus does not intend to change the trade regime with Moldova. The potential of the Moldovan-Belarusian cooperation allows the two countries to intensify it.
