The documentary “Zolotoy Vityaz. Nikolai Burlyayev” directed by Sergei Katier has won the Grand Prix of the 23rd International Slavonic Film Festival Zolotoy Vityaz (Golden Knight) held in the Russian city of Tomsk. The film specially shot for the Belarus 3 TV channel tells about the life and career of the famous director, actor, and People’s Artist of Russia Nikolai Burlyayev. This is the second project in the history of the Belarusian cinematography that won the Grand Prix of the prestigious forum. Other Belarusian works also got prizes. The documentary “Steps over the Water” by Yuri Timofeyev was named best in the Short Documentaries nomination. The film “Shambala” (Fenugreek) by Galina Adamovich was awarded a diploma for the poetical image of the native land.
The winners of the Zolotoy Vityaz festival also include the documentary film “Afghanistan. I Remember” by Khalima Khasanova, Tamara Mironova who got the Best Leading Actress Award for the film “Babu” by Victor Bondarovich, “The Goose-Girl at the Well” animated film by Irina Tarasova, and others.
All in all, the 23rd Zolotoy Vityaz Festival featured 277 films from 16 countries.
