Union State earmarks funds for children recuperation in 2014


       The Union State budget envisages the allocation of funds for recuperation purposes for at least 1,500 children that require expert care in the health resorts of Belarus and Russia in 2014, the Union State Permanent Committee told media following the meeting in Moscow to discuss the organization of treatment and recuperation for children from Chernobyl regions of Belarus and Russia, and health resort treatment for war veterans and disabled people. It is expected that over RUB38 million will be allocated from the Union State budget for children recuperation in 2014.
         Over the past 12 years the Union State has been financing events related to the treatment and recuperation of children from the Russian and Belarusian regions most suffered from the Chernobyl accident. Over 13,400 children from Belarus and Russia underwent treatment and recuperation courses from 2002 to 2013. Of them more than 5,800 children were treated in Belarusian sanatoriums. A total of over RUB186 million were allocated from the Union State budget for the purpose over the period.
