The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU) have signed a memorandum of cooperation in Moscow. The memorandum is aimed at the establishment of business relations and intensification of the EEC cooperation in the social and labor sector. The document envisages creation of conditions for an efficient regulation of labor migration flows, coordination of their volumes in the interests of the social and economic development of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space member states. There are plans for joint information and analytical events such as conferences, seminars, roundtables on labor migration. The General Confederation of Trade Unions is a regional international association that is involved in the formation of the single legal field of the common labor market, including an optimal integration of provisions of fundamental international documents into the national legislation of the CU and SES member states. The Confederation elaborates proposals aimed at the enhancement of the migration policy and protection of the rights of migrant workers.
