Belarus’ world number one Aryna Sabalenka will face world number 44 Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic in the Brisbane International quarterfinal, BelTA has learned.
Aryna Sabalenka will play Marie Bouzkova at professional tournaments for the third time. The Belarusian secured a confident win, 6-1, 6-2, in Miami in 2023. The Czech player outplayed the Belarusian, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in Washington in 2024. The winner of the forthcoming match will face Russia’s world number 16 Mirra Andreeva in the semifinal. The Russian player defeated world number 42 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia. Ukraine’s world number 55 Angelina Kalinina and Russia’s world number 107 Polina Kudermetova also made it into the semifinal.
Last year Aryna Sabalenka reached the Brisbane final where she lost to Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina. The ongoing event will be over on 5 January.
