Glazyev: EDB studies show Eurasiasceptics the economic effect of integration

Studies conducted by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) show Eurasiasceptics the economic effect of integration, Advisor to the Russian President, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Glazyev said at the international conference held by the Eurasian Development Bank to discuss strengthening and expansion of Eurasian integration. “The assessment of the economic effect of the development of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, served as criteria confirming appropriateness of the efforts taken in the development of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Sergei Glazyev said. It is of great significance taking into account a big number of Eurasiasceptics who cast doubt upon the appropriateness of economic integration processes labeling them as having more political than economic motives, he stressed. “Studies provide for a great economic effect through a considerable increase in GDP, mutual trade and improvement of wellbeing of the people that live in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space,” Sergei Glazyev noted.
