Belarus and Hungary exchanged the experience in the field of sustainable use of water resources at the Budapest Water Summit. The summit has been organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary with the assistance of the UN agencies, the government and the private sector, civil society, academic and educational institutions. The summit discussed the issues of renewal of water resources, including in the context of the goals set out by the UN Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20. In addition, the summit also considered possible practical solutions in terms of proper use and restoration of water resources.
Belarus’ Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Protection Vladimir Tsalko met with heads of international organizations of the United Nations system and heads of delegations of the participating countries to discuss the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the water sector, and also the international technical assistance for Belarus.
