Best effort to prepare Belarus for world ice hockey championship

      The best effort should be given to preparations for the world ice hockey championship that will take place in Minsk in 2014. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made the statement at the government session held to discuss preparations for and the championship. In his words, the world championship is not just another sport event. The President believes that the world championship should also produce serious economic and financial returns. It has acquired a political angle recently, he added. Therefore, Belarus should prove to everyone that it is truly a civilized Central European country. “
       Alexander Lukashenko said he wanted close attention paid to people’s safety and security and smooth cooperation between emergency services. The event should be a memorable one and a milestone for Minsk.
