Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin is convinced that leaders of Belarus and Russia will not allow the situation in the region to reach a hot phase, BelTA has learned.
The defense minister said: “You can see what is going on in the information field. But I have confidence and conviction that our presidents, who I believe to be the strongest ones today in world politics, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin will not allow a hot phase. Everything will be peaceful and diplomatic, everything will be put in its place. I think it will happen very soon. In the near future.”
Viktor Khrenin stated that some politicians have been making alarmist forecasts lately. “It seems to me they are teaching us to accept this word. Such ‘normalcy’. But I believe it is not normal. It is abnormal,” he stressed.
The official believes that it should be counteracted with solid defense in all spheres of state activities – politics, economy, and of course the military sphere.
