Minister: Belarus’ construction industry is in for cardinal changes

The country’s construction industry is in for revolutionary changes within the next six months, Belarus’ Architecture and Construction Minister Ruslan Parkhamovich told the media after his meeting with the Belarusian president, BelTA has learned.

The head of state set a task to look into  ways to streamline all construction procedures. “This pertains to town-planning, permitting documentation, construction support. We want to reduce the amount of paperwork, list of permits for construction business. We want to make sure that the result depends more on it rather than on supervisory and coordinating authorities. Our task is to simplify the construction process as much as possible. We will be working on this in the near future," the minister said.

According to him, in six months the construction industry will be in for big changes. "These changes will be revolutionary, innovative. These will not be piecemeal adjustments to the regulatory acts but a comprehensive work on the whole package of documents. Indeed, these will be revolutionary changes that will ease the procedures in the construction industry. This will be good news for contractors, customers, designers and urban planners. But first of all, these steps will be aimed at getting the result as simply and quickly as possible," Ruslan Parkhamovich noted.
