Lukashenko expects clarity from Russia in respect of Belarus

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expects clarity from Russia in respect of Belarus. The President made this statement at a session of the Security Council on 16 December.
       (record)
"Once we agreed that the major threats for our country come from the economy. The economy is a very vulnerable target in any country, in particular an export-oriented one in today’s situation.
The recent actions of our eastern brother cannot but raise concern. However, we are not drawing any conclusions yet, including me, before the meeting with the Russian President. I want to understand why the Russian Federation would act this way towards Belarus. Of course, we cannot disregard it. I would like to repeat that we do not make any drama of it. We just want clarity. It should be understood that no one will be allowed to speak to us from the position of force."
