The Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State will focus on expanding interregional cooperation between the two countries with a view to addressing economic issues, Deputy Chairman of the Union State PA Ivan Melnikov said at the recent session of the Parliamentary Assembly, BelTA reports. The year 2015 will mark the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. “We have the same understanding of the cost of this victory. It is obvious that it would be appropriate to visit war memorials, lay flowers and commemorate war heroes during the events to be arranged by the Parliamentary Assembly,” he added.
Besides, the Union State MPs have plans to establish relations with the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The MPs will keep taking part in election monitoring in other countries.
