The member states of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space (SES) have been demonstrating sustainable development. According to the EEU, in 2013 the FDI influx in the Customs Union and the SES from the Troika member states showed a 13.5% growth in comparison with the previous year. Important factors in the investment cooperation in the Customs Union and the SES were integration processes in the Customs Union, removal of barriers in mutual trade and creation of conditions for business cooperation. According to Timur Suleimenov, the member states of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space have been actively cooperating in the oil and gas, power, banking sectors, nuclear, metallurgical, chemical, and other industries.
