Ambassador: Armenia’s accession to EEU predetermined by history

Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, the new integration association of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, has been predetermined by the history, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Belarus Armen Khachatryan said in an interview with the Belarus TV channel. As was reported, Armenia signed the agreement on accession to the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty in a ceremony in Minsk on 10 October.
Thus, Armenia became the first country to have joined the "troika", although a number of states expressed their interest.
"This is the historical interest: the history has shown that we should be together," said Armen Khachatryan. We have lots of harmonious things, similar things. Besides, being together is just the prerequisite for peace now. I mean we need to deal with a lot of things to develop the country, to be safe and secure, be able to go ahead. When a state is on its own it is difficult to do. We have not lost our friends, and now we will go forward together," the ambassador said.
