A travelling exhibition of the Japanese diplomatic mission “Traditions and Culture of Japan” has opened at the National Library of Belarus. The exhibition is part of the festival Japanese Autumn in Belarus.
The exhibition includes a separate book exposition featuring over 100 publications about Japan from the collections of the library.
A separate place in the exposition is held by publications about Iosif Goshkevich, Russia’s first consul to Japan and author of the Japanese-Russian dictionary. This year Belarus marks the 200th anniversary of the Belarus-born diplomat and lexicographer.
An annual nationwide contest for the best presentation in the Japanese language will be held during the festival. Winners will represent Belarus at the CIS contest that will be held in Moscow in October.
