Belarusian children on recuperation trip to China for the first time

About 200 children and teenagers from Belarus have left for the first-ever recuperation trip to China. These are children and teenagers from the regions affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, orphans and children without parental care, as well as children studying the Chinese language, Deputy Education Minister of Belarus Viktor Yakzhik told media. He underlined that the project is envisaged in the protocol of instructions of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko that were given following the visit of the Belarusian delegation to China in 2013. “I hope that while in China the Belarusian children will educate their Chinese peers about their culture and make new friends, which will contribute to closer ties between Belarus and China. Of course, we want the program to be a success, because it will encourage more projects of this kind. Such a trip became possible thanks to the closer cooperation between Belarus and China. The economic ties give rise to humanitarian, social and cultural cooperation, while these children and teenagers will grow up to promote the Belarus-China friendship,” he said.
