Belarus' visitors most interested in UNESCO World Heritage sites

Foreign tourists coming to Belarus are most interested in going on UNESCO World Heritage tours, BelTA learnt from Marina Mastashova, chief specialist at the department of planning and organizing tourist activities under the Sport and Tourism Ministry of Belarus.
“Foreigners are most attracted to the sites under the patronage of the UNESCO: Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Mir Castle, the Architectural, Residential and Cultural Complex of the Radziwill Family at Nesvizh, the Struve Geodetic Arc points. These sites have become known to a wide circle of potential tourists worldwide thanks to their inscription into the UNESCO World Heritage List. As a rule, first-time visitors to Belarus do not go deep into the country and start with the world-known sites,” Marina Mastashova noted.
Today Belarus offers more than 1,500 tourist trails. New and renewed war and history excursions topped the popularity this year. Bicycle tourism has also gained momentum in the capital.
