PM: Belarus, Lithuania can seek to implement major infrastructure projects

         The level of cooperation of Belarus and Lithuania is high enough and the two countries can seek to implement major infrastructure projects, Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with Foreign Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius, BelTA reports. The Prime Minister described the Belarusian-Lithuanian cooperation as a fairly dynamic. “We can seek to embark on more serious projects, infrastructure projects," he said. Mikhail Myasnikovich said he would like to the agreements reached at the level of Prime Ministers to continue to be implemented in the future. Linas Linkevicius, for his part, stressed that Belarus and Lithuania need to maintain and nurture the bilateral relations, respecting each other's positions. Lithuania Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius is in Belarus on a working visit. The agenda of the visit includes the whole range of issues of Belarusian-Lithuanian cooperation and the interaction between Belarus and the EU.

     “Looking at today’s relations between Belarus and Lithuania, one would not hesitate to call them close and friendly. Meetings are often held at the level of Prime Ministers, heads of governmental agencies, including Foreign Ministries.
     We understand that we have a number of mutual interests. Our relations are further advanced by the willingness to use the advantages of our geographic location, to use the opportunities for transit, explore the complementary branches of our economies. And certainly, there’s European dimension to it. We want to see Belarus a part of European and regional integration processes.”
