Significance of Belarus-Russia Unity Day increases every year

The significance of Belarus-Russia Unity Day increases every year, Vladimir Shuglya, Honorary Consul of Belarus to Tyumen, Russia, Chairman of the Oblast Civil Organization “Union – Integration of Brotherly Nations”, told a press conference, BelTA has learnt.

Tyumen will host a solemn meeting on the day. Partaking in it will be about 400 people, including MPs, government bodies and the public.

Speaking about economic cooperation between Belarus and Tyumen Oblast, Vladimir Shuglya noted that the exports to the region grew 2.7 times over the last four years.

Cities of Tyumen Oblast and Belarus sign twin-town agreements to develop all-round relations. The Tyumen-Brest agreement on trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural cooperation of 1999 was prolonged in 2013. Twin-town agreements were also signed between Tobolsk and Mogilev, Zavodoukovsk and Klimovichi.

Among the latest promising cooperation areas is the Pyshminskaya Dolina project in the Vinzili settlement to construct a modern complex that will include a technopark and a center for modern agricultural technologies. This complex will be able to host exhibitions, demonstrations of farm machines and technologies.
