The Belarusian basketball club Tsmoki Minsk clinched a second victory at the second group stage (Group L) of the EuroChallenge in the away match against Denmark’s Bakken Bears Aarhus.
In their last match of the first round in Group L the Belarusian champions did not leave a chance to Bakken Bears Aarhus 83:76 (12:18, 25:16, 23:16, 23:26). Keith Benson top-scored for Tsmoki Minsk with 26 points. In the Ural Ekaterinburg match, on 21 January, which the Minsk club narrowly lost 96:97, he also produced a smart and efficient 25-point display. In the first encounter of Group L Tsmoki Minsk hammered Finland’s Team Teho Sport Kotka (Finland) 100:64.
On 29 January the last game of the first round in Group L will be played, with Team Teho Sport Kotka hosting Ural Ekaterinburg.
In the first match of the second round Tsmoki Minsk will take on Team Teho Sport Kotka at home on 11 February. They will then face Ural Ekaterinburg away on 18 February and finish the Group L round with the home tie against Aarhus.
The Group L standings are as follows: Tsmoki Minsk 5 points (3 played), Ural Ekaterinburg 4 points (2 played), Team Teho Sport Kotka 3 points (2 played) and Aarhus 3 points (3 played).
Winners of the four groups along with runners-up will enter the EuroChallenge quarterfinal. Four best teams from that round will qualify for the EuroChallenge Final Four.
