Belarusian-Ecuadorian-Chilean consortium eager to extract oil in Ecuador

         The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft in association with the Ecuadorian company Petroamazonas and the Chilean company ENAP has taken part in the 11th round of government tenders for the license to prospect and extract oil in Ecuador. The alliance of the three companies was forged in July 2013. Apart from the Belarusian-Ecuadorian-Chilean consortium the Ecuadorian company Andes Petroleum and the Spanish company Repsol Cuba were interested in the license. Results of the tender are supposed to be announced in February 2014.
        Belorusneft’s branch was registered in Ecuador in late 2012. Two seismic surveying teams already work in the Amazon River selva. In line with the two-year contract signed with the Ecuadorian state oil company Petroamazonas EP the seismic surveying teams are supposed to look for hydrocarbon deposits using 3D technologies on an area as large as 1,500 km2. Belorusneft has been certified as a seismic surveying service provider and now performs this service in Ecuador independently and as a contractor.
