Massive IT modernization in Belarusian banking in 2014-2015

           The Belarusian banking system should expect a large-scale modernization of virtually all the automated data processing systems used by banks in 2014-2015. The information was released by Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Dubkov at the 10th international forum on information technologies used in banking BankIT.
        Sergei Dubkov drew attention of representatives of Belarusian banks to some aspects relevant for the future development of information technologies. The budgets earmarked for supporting and developing information technologies in the banking system are impressive. It will require detailed work on the technical specifications for software taking into account the fact that virtually half of the Belarusian banks, including the National Bank, plan to overhaul the information technologies they use in 2014-2015. For the sake of developing banking software the official encouraged inviting IT companies with a successful record on the market of banking services and technologies as well as internationally recognized IT companies, which are located in Belarus but have virtually zero representation in the banking sector.
