Belarus to set up national public-private partnership center

Belarus is planning to set up the national center for public-private partnership, Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov following the conference "Public-Private Partnership: Best International Practices and Prospects for Belarus” in Minsk.
He said that Belarus has been working to create the necessary legal framework for the development of public-private partnership (PPP). The concept of the draft law on public-private partnership has been approved; the bill on PPP has been drafted. These institutional documents are based on the project of international technical assistance to strengthen Belarus’ national capacities in applying PPP mechanisms. The project aims to establish an organizational and management structure - the national center for public-private partnership, and fourthly, to develop the methodological framework for the implementation of PPP projects. It is expected that of our joint work will result in the launch of two pilot social infrastructure development projects. We are at the beginning of the journey but I am convinced that we will be able to achieve the expected results through close interaction, personal participation, understanding the need for and efficiency of this instrument and its wide use in Belarus,” the Minister said.
