Embassy: Several Belarusians are missing after Turkiye earthquakes

The Belarusian embassy in Turkiye continues to monitor the situation with Belarusians among the victims of the recent earthquakes, BelTA learned from the embassy's Twitter page.

“The Belarusian embassy is unable to get in touch with several Belarusians following powerful earthquakes in Turkiye. The embassy maintains constant contact with their relatives in Belarus and checks the information with the competent Turkish authorities,” the embassy said.

As BelTA reported earlier, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed the Emergencies Ministry to send to Turkiye a 64-strong emergency rescue team certified according to UN international standards, and equipment intended for search and rescue operations.

An instruction was also given to look into sending humanitarian cargo to Syria.
