China is thankful to Belarus for the solid support expressed in matters concerning key Chinese interests. The statement was made by Liu Yunshan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, as he met with Anatoly Rubinov, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the Belarus parliament.
“The purpose of my visit to Belarus is to implement the important agreements made by the heads of our states in order to encourage the development of bilateral cooperation in all fields,” noted the representative of the Communist Party of China. Liu Yunshan underlined that cooperation between parliaments is an important component of interaction between the states. Efforts are exercised to establish this avenue of Belarus-China cooperation, including visits. He also pointed out good development trends in Belarus-China trade and economic relations:
“We are very pleased to be able to point out this very positive progress in the economic cooperation between the two countries. And it is worth noting that trade volumes are on the rise in conditions of the global economy crisis. In particular, last year the bilateral trade has already reached $1.587 billion while in 2012 Belarus-China traded rose by 20%. In H1 2013 Belarus-China trade rose by 27%. Such figures are rare in economic cooperation between nations. We are confident about the future of our economic dialogue. Also, we see continuous progress in humanitarian sphere, technology, science, education, culture and so on.”
