Belarusian agricultural workers have finished spring planting in five Belarusian oblasts, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 4 May, early spring cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were planted on the area of 630,200 hectares, 97.8% of the targeted area. Planting was done on 64% of the designated area in Mogilev Region. The planting in Minsk Region, Vitebsk Region, Brest Region, Grodno Region, and Gomel Region was completed.
All in all, spring planting in Belarus was completed on the area of 1,149,500 hectares, or 51.7% of the total.
A total of 1,411,200 hectares of soil (63.5% of the plan) was prepared for sowing spring crops. This year, these crops will be planted on the area of 2,221,900 hectares.
