US Open: Belarus’ Ilya Ivashka reaches third round

Belarus’ world number 53 Ilya Ivashka has moved into the US Open round three after seeing off Canada’s world number 58 Vasek Pospisil 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), BelTA has learned.

In the opener the Belarusian defeated world number 91 Tennys Sandgren of the United States, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, 6-4.

In the US Open women’s event Aryna Sabalenka will next face world number 29 Danielle Collins of the United States, while Victoria Azarenka will play Spain’s world number 10 Garbine Muguruza.
