Expert: Minsk talks on Ukraine possible only due to Belarus’ neutral position

      The two rounds of Minsk talks on Ukraine were possible due to Belarus’ neutral position only, Director of the Center for European Reform (London) Charles Grant said in an interview to the Belarusian TV show Kontury.
     According to Charles Grant, Europe is grateful to Belarus for its neutral position on the Ukrainian crisis. The CER head said that the agreements reached in Minsk are the only thing Ukraine has on its way to peace today.
     In his words, the Ukrainian crisis opened for Europe the fact that Belarus chooses its way independently and plays “its independent part.” In this respect Charles Grant believes that the European Union should act more selectively.
