The Belarusian ballet set off for its Christmas tour around the cities of Germany and Austria, we learned from the Belarusian National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater.
It has already become an annual tradition for the ballet troupe of the Bolshoi theater to spend December and January away from home performing the most festive ballets from their repertoire, The Nutcracker and Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, to the European audience.
The present Christmas tour will kick off in the city of Ludwigsburg, the Baden-Wurttemberg state of Germany. Before the beginning of the year 2015 the Belarusian ballet dancers will visit Munich, Berlin, Dortmund, Hamburg, Essen, Bayreuth, Stuttgart, and Hanover. In January the troupe will perform in Frankfurt, Leipzig, Lubeck, Kassel, Cologne, and Bremen.
The Austrians will also have an opportunity to see Swan Lake and The Nutcracker or Another Christmas Story in the main cultural centers of the country, Salzburg and Vienna.
The tour will last for a month and a half till 21 January. During the tour the theater will perform Swan Lake 15 times and The Nutcracker or Another Christmas Story 18 times.
